About two weeks ago, I inadvertently dropped my smart phone, which was in the chest pocket of my shirt, onto the floor. It slipped out of it when I took my shoes off. It resulted in what you see in the following picture. Nowadays, cell phones serve not only as telephones but comprehensive information terminals. In my case, additionally, my mobile phone also works just like a wallet. You would understand that I really got bogged down. Fortunately, the phone wasn't completely broken at that time and I continued to use it.
However, around a week later, the phone began to work in a different way than usual. I was planning to visit Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo to honor people who had lost their lives for the good of my country. I'm a Japanese and Tokyo is the capital of Japan, but I'm unfamiliar with it. Without some guidance, I can't freely move around Tokyo. The smart phone tells me where I should change trains, or pay for my fares precisely. It's hard work for me to calculate the fare. With the phone, I have just only to wave it over the reader at the gates of the stations or inside buses.
I asked the shop to repair it in a hurry and was recommended to change it for a new one because it was covered by insurance. I followed the advice and I got a new one with a small amount of money.

I know what you mean about relying on the phone for navigating Tokyo trains. They really are helpful when they are working properly. Glad you managed to get a new one fairly quickly.
