There are various officially managed language tests for the public to encourage people to acquire languages of their choice. Some goal-oriented people take the tests and aim for the higher level step by step. I am one of those people and I underwent the German test today for the 4th grade. The language skill levels are roughly categorized into 5 levels. The 5th grade is the beginner's level and as the number diminishes, the difficulty level soars.
Just after the test, I'm convinced of the success of the test. On the way back I dropped in at a bookstore and bought the books in the picture below. They are Korean and German textbooks. I'm going to challenge the Korean 3rd grade, one level higher than I am now, in April and also German next fall.
(Vocabulary)
of one's choice 自分で選んだ、自分の好みの[好き勝手で]、自ら求めて
school of one's choice 志望校
Actually, yes. Emerald Bay. We just stopped alongside the road for pictures as we made our way around the lake. Thank you for stopping in at my blog, and for the comment.

Hi, Shiroi_Tora
I viewed your son Alex, the pictures of your trip of Lake Tahoe and "California Roll". Japan is, you know, Sushi Country, but I seldom see this type of rolls in ordinary sushi restaurant. Now I'm planning to visit Canada next March and your picture of California Roll reminded me of BC (British Columbia) Rolls. Where are you in the picture? Emerald Bay State Park?

Drive is the most important aspect of the human condition. It is that which I most impress with my son. The same drive that keeps you learning now is what had urged you upward to become a doctor.
I talk of you to my 11 year old son. I offer you as an example to follow...of someone who never stops learning. It is your type of person whom the youth should try to emulate. Your path in life is a correct one...one that leads to a life well lived. My humble bow to you.
