At last, we reached Shiretoko Misaki Cape, the tip of the Shiretoko Peninsula. This area has been untouched to preserve the environment. We were also not allowed to step on the soil and viewed the cape from the deck. Do you notice an island behind the cape? It is Kunashiri island, which is illegally occupied territory by Russia. There's no evidence that it belongs to Russia. Antipathy toward Russia is embedded deeply in the mind of Japanese people. The next two pictures show the island. I knew how big the island was viewing the map, but it was much bigger than I expected to see with my naked eye. It is profoundly regrettable to be deprived of the island. Some people say, "Northern territories were ripped away through the war, so we have to take it back through war,,," Japanese people don't want to wage wars voluntarily against any country, but the antipathy against Russia will never disappear and is increasing more and more.
The last picture is the certification of the arrival at the point of the northern latitude of 44 degrees and 22 minutes and the eastern longitude of 145 degrees and 20 minutes. The uppermost line reads "World Natural Heritage Site, Shiretoko National Park".
