We were told to get together at the Diamond Princess's mother pier in Yokohama City at the designated time. The higher rooms you booked, the earlier you could get on board, just like passenger planes, but our room was the lowest class but one, so our checking time was late and set around 1600 hours. Being eager to see the ship as early as possible, however, we left my hometown in the early morning. When we got off the bus from Haneda Airport at the Yokohama pier stop, we found lots of tourists with suitcases walking from the direction of the pier. They would have been the passengers on the last cruise. The enormous ship came into my sight, as I was approaching the pier. I was excited, thinking of getting on board again. A big event, replicating the German-style Christmas, was being held in the nearby park. One single thing which I had to do this day was to get on board the Diamond Princess. I wouldn't drive, so I got sausages and a mug filled with German beer without a second thought.
Next, we headed for Hammer Head Park, which was still under construction. My wife wanted to drop in at a pizza house in the park. I didn't know its name, but the pizzas were delicious.
