The following pictures are of traffic signals. They vary a lot between countries. In general the signals are designed to avoid being damaged from natural disasters like heavy snowfall and strong winds. In the snowy areas in Japan, the signals are made vertically long in shape so that snow doesn't accumulate on them. Now, what is the climate in Prince Edward Island like? The shape of the signals was horizontally long. Doesn't the island have a lot of snow, plus rivers and bays freeze? The signal had three kinds of color lights; red, yellow and green just the same as those in Japan. Additionally there was one light which didn't work, at least while I was observing it. Was it for a certain emergency use? The red color had two lights, which were for high visibility, I supposed.
I observed how they changed for some time. People who were passing by or the drivers at the intersection might think of me as a mentally challenged man. Around 10 minutes later, I found myself far away from my daughter. She must have wanted to pretend that I wasn't her father. (grin) I gave up seeing the farthest left light and started walking. At the next corner, I found a new type of traffic signal. The shape of the red color was square. Why?
