I went out for a walk with some friends to see around our hotel, H10 ROMA CITTA on the last day in Europe. The first picture below shows my daughter and one of my friends who were shopping for souvenirs. It was smart, I thought, to get them in such ordinary shops, because the goods' prices would be lower than those of shops in the tourists spots.
A bus picked us up at the hotel entrance and took us to the International Airport of Rome, called Fiumicino Airport or also called Leonardo da Vinci Airport. I was looking outside on the way, and found a signboard on which "Ostia Antica" was written. I promptly consulted my travel guidebook and found it was a great ancient ruin. Our flight to Munich was scheduled at 14:35 hours and we had enough time to visit Ostia Antica. Didn't our travel company know about it? It is located only 5km south of the airport. I really wanted to visit the ruins. If you see the pictures taken at Ostia Antica, you'd agree with me.
A new local guide joined our tour at the airport for the departure procedure, but she was not useful for me, though the local guide on the previous day was excellent. The flight to Munich was operated by Air Dolomiti and I remembered their rough handling of suitcases. I hoped I could get my suitcases back intact.

Ostia Antica 古代オスティア遺跡:立ち寄ることはできなかったが帰国後調べてみると第一級の遺跡群で、ここへ寄らせてくれなかったのは旅行社の手落ちではないかと思う。時間は十分にあったので。
