I ascended halfway up the mountain by the Hakkoda Ropeway. I show pictures of Mts. Hakkoda taken from the mountainside. As you can see, Mts. Hakkoda have gentle slopes, no rocks, no spires. The summits are like upside down bowls. I can't believe this was the scene of the most disastrous alpine accident. My friend (see the following URL) living in Mutsu city enjoys ski mountaineering here. I'd like to get together with him, but too far from my hometown.
