At the beginning of the 20th century, two adventurers headed for the South Pole. This novel originated from the great race to the South Pole between Britain's Robert Scott and Norway's Roald Amundsen. Every detail of the race is omitted but I felt the harshness of the natural environment in Antarctica. I sometimes climb up mountains in the winter. My mountain gear is extremely superior to theirs. My clothes and tents are warm and light. My food is light and compact, but contains high enough calories to survive in the harsh environment. I'm happy to be born in this era.
