I took a walk alone in and out of the village in the afternoon. I've never lived out of Japan and such a walk was fun. I hopped from one shop to another and bought things for my co-workers. There were many shops like a stationery shop, a pharmacy, a mom-and-pop candy store, bookstores, liquor shops and so on.
I'm going to show you the inside of a pharmacy. I stayed there more than 30 minutes and took a look at packages of medicine. I know lots of technical terms of medical science and easily understood what was written on the packages. Some medicines that people are required to have a prescription to get in Japan were on the shelves here. The Canadian lady at the counter was very brusque. I was afraid that I might be seen psychopathically, but I heard that my friend was also treated in a gruff tone later. I was relieved to know that she was naturally brusque.
