We were going to stay in Awara Onsen hot spring in Fukui Prefecture. It was the first time to visit this hot spring and we reserved a moderate room at a high-class hotel there. We were strangers there and thought that everything would be nice in a decent hotel. We'd enjoy various types of hot springs. We got to the hotel uneventfully guided by the navigation system.
When I spoke to a doorman through the window of the car, we were showed to a small desk not to the front desk. It seemed that after my reservation a group of visitors wanted to stay on the same floor and my room was occupied. Therefore, my room was transferred to another part of the hotel, and the newly designated room was utterly luxurious as I'll show you at the end of this entry. We were totally lucky. If we had paid the normal room fee, our dinner would have been served in the room, but we had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel. I forgot to take my camera to the restaurant and couldn't take pictures of the dishes. I miss showing the dishes here in my blog. I think you'd become interested in the Japanene traditional cuisine, Kaiseki Ryori.
One thing, the room had its own open-air bath. We could soak as long as we liked, of course, privately. We got the blessing of the magma deep underground.
