Getting on board, we rushed to the deck to say farewell to islanders who had welcomed us. I'll show you the pictures of our departure below. Some people played musical instruments, others danced the "Rishirin Ondo Dance", or shouted "See you again", or waved at us. We thought of visiting the island again. Especially, I'd like to stand on the summit of Mt. Rishirifuji and look down and around.
Just after the departure, we attended the briefing of the optional tour on Sakhalin, which is undoubtedly Japanese territory, but was invaded in 1945 and even now is occupied by Russia. It was regrettable that we needed our passports for landing on Sakhalin. We were offered several tours and we chose a tour which would go sightseeing to Toyohara and Oodomari.
