When I got back to the Nippon Maru, an oil tanker was alongside the Nippon Maru. It seemed that the fueling was finished judging from the draft line. I've never seen this type of ship. I observed it carefully and found a rescue boat aft. It was just like a roller coaster about to start. I imagined that in case of fire on such a tanker, the crew members would have to evacuate as fast as possible.
When I entered my room, I felt at home. I thought that it was because I had experienced a sense of otherness in Karafuto. I saw the last service of the tender boat from my room and headed for the restaurant.
(Vocabulary)
otherness ほか[別]のものであること, 異種であること
