It seemed to rain last night, but this morning it was getting bright. While my wife prepared breakfast, I went out for a short walk along the beach. Then, I found a monster-like garbage collector truck. It was huge and its movement was really rough. In Japan all the garbage is put at its collection point on the designated day like the day of the burnable, the day of the steel cans or glass bottles, paper, and so on. Each bag of garbage is thrown into the truck by human power, being checked not to mix with other kinds of garbage.
On the other hand, the method of collection which I saw was considerably crude. The operator didn't even get out of the truck. He plunged the hook into the garbage container, raised it, and turned it over without confirming the contents. I thought, that's it, the U.S.
