I felt a sense of confinement and drove my car nearby. The following picture shows a distinctive bridge connecting small clusters across the river. As you can imagine from its design, when the water level of the river becomes extremely high, this bridge can avoid the strong pressure from the flow. By sinking into the water, the bridge can avoid the collision with driftwood. It's the wisdom of people who had lived along the river. FYI, this river is well-known as the clearest river in Japan.
This bridge is called "Sinking Bridge" literally in Japanese. I googled the name of this type of bridge to write this entry, and I knew the word, "low-water crossing". The internet is really handy, and a new online trip will start often when I find something interesting.
