My father passed away in the early morning on Jan. 1st. The phone call in a thoughtless time zone sparked my uneasy feeling. My father's condition had been critically unstable since last month. I instantly understood his death from the call.
My father had just turned 90 in December. He had been forced to stay in hospital for his last three years from his condition which needs nurses. Free access to him was inhibited in the hospital even to family members due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was really regrettable that none of my family was able to be at his bedside when he left for heaven.
The principal rituals concerning Buddhism had mostly finished, but my family will continue other rituals following the Buddhism rules.
