It's great! I met the word "garner" for the first time. also great.

There are many such sayings in America...all with a similar bent:
(all are my paraphrasing)...

The vigor of youth falls to the wisdom of age...every time.

Youth strives to out work, while age strives to outsmart.

While a young man following another young man's ways can become good...
only when a young man follows an aged man's ways, can he become great.
(the young and strong learning a method which must be changed as he ages...vs...an already young and strong man learning how to be efficient through intelligence in application...will have it all).

A man who has done... is a man who truly knows (Wisdom through direct experience).

There are many such sayings which are popular. Men in America generally respect older men of wisdom, of whom had garnered it, either through their direct experience, or through their superior intelligence.

Thank you for your comment. Is this a proverb or something like that?

Anyway, I went for a drive to Kyushu for three days. I'll write about it.

Bravo. A man matures when he realizes to work smarter, and not harder. :)
