As soon as my ferry arrived at the Osaka port early in the morning, I headed for Otsu City where my lifelong friend lived. Otsu City is 20km away from Kyoto and is located by Biwako Lake, which is the largest lake in Japan. I left my baggage in his home and went out to Kyoto with him.
We changed trains at Yamashina and got off at Keage station. This area was new to me and a dead track in front of the station caught my eye. My friend told me that this area was one of the popular tourist destinations in Kyoto (http://en.biwako-sosui.jp/). He guided me around.
