I'll write about the turn of the last year again. I've already written that my wife and I went to Nagoya City. We wanted to stay there for a while and enjoy sightseeing, but unfortunately we didn't have enough time and had got to come back the next day.
Highways from the big cities to local places are usually jammed in this season of year, and we started at about 9:00. It seemed it took 7 hours to come back. However, the traffic on the highway wasn't tied up. It might be due to the slowdown of the economy. Anyway, we could take short stops at some rest areas noted for its beautiful scenery.
The first picture shows Mt. Ibukiyama and my car. I climbed this mountain about 20 years ago. It was not hard but I had to snake up through the heavy rain. I was seeing the mountain recalling a tea break in the torrential rain. The friend that I went up with was the guy who sent me a picture that I showed you in the previous entry: http://kumo.typepad.jp/weblog/2008/12/an-e-mail-from.html
The next is Lake Biwako from the rest area of Meishin Highway, the biggest lake in Japan. You can see a sightseeing ship, Michigan on the lake. You can get more information here: http://www.biwakokisen.co.jp/english/index.html
I also took pictures at some other points. I'm going to post them another time.

I am lucky to be the one who has caught your stories about your trip to Nagoya. As I am sure it is with most foreigners in Japan, I hope to climb Fuji san before I go home to America. I hear that the climb isn't that fun, but the view from the top is amazing! I can only imagine now. :o)
