Where's The Hull Note?

　　I found the ultimate deception in the last section. It was the last-minute letter from FDR to Ten-noh Hirohito to disguise his de facto ambition. The letter said that he wanted to avoid world-wide war, which made me laugh. I was really disgusted with him and the anger didn't even occur in my mind. It's said that he had found pleasure in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
　　I couldn't help laughing at the U.S.'s pitiful struggle to distort the facts. I wondered where the "Hull Note" had gone. The "Hull Note" can be called the key word of "the Road to War", the name of the archives. None of the present Americans has responsibility for it, but I hope that lots of Americans will read the Note. If you ask me, it requested Japan to give up without resistance. When you are assaulted, it's natural to fight or resist the enemies, even if those efforts might be trivial or ineffective. The words of the top official of the Japanese Army have been handed down as follows: even if Japan disappeared on the globe, the surviving Japanese would surely reconstruct Japan, if the historical facts which Japan had ever resolutely fought their enemies remain. Do you understand his desperate feelings? Japan got involved in world-wide war against its will. The Great East Asian War was Japan's self-defense war as silly Douglas MacArthur testified in the public hearing after the war.
　　There was nothing refered to the official meeting, in which FDR and the U.K. Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, had formed the conspiracy to force Japan to wage war prior to the Hull Note. I believe that this meeting on the British battleship, the Prince of Wales, on the Atlantic Ocean is another key word when you think about "The Road to War". The archives were terrible, at least for one who knows the historical facts. The last picture shows the submarine Bowfin, which I visited next.

ＦＤＲの手紙とハルノート

出口にあったＦＤＲの外交努力のセクション。天皇に戦争を避けるための手紙を書いたが返事が無かったというのだが。怒りを越えて、呆れてしまい、笑ってしまった。ＦＤＲは真珠湾攻撃の知らせを聞いてたいそう喜んだという話が残っているのだが。
　
歴史捏造のための涙ぐましいまでの努力に笑うしかなかった。『戦争への道』のキーワードとも言えるハルノートはどうなったのか？現在生きているアメリカ人には何の責任も無い話だが、このハルノートを読んでみて欲しい。日本に座して死ぬことを強要している文書だ。座して死ぬよりは戦って死のうと考えるのが道理だろうと僕は考える。日本軍のトップの言葉が残っている。仮に日本という国が無くなったとしても、果敢に戦ったという歴史が残れば必ずや生き残った日本人が日本を再興してくれるだろう。そう信じて多くの特攻攻撃が続けられたのだ。あの戦争は日本にとって自衛のための戦争だった。愚かなマッカーサーは戦後になってやっと気がつき、公聴会でそう発言している。
　
ハルノートが送られてくる直前、大西洋上のイギリス戦艦プリンスオブウェールズで行われたＦＤＲとチャーチルとの謀議もまた史料館には必須と思うがスルーか？史料館と呼ぶにはあまりにもお粗末なものだった。最後の写真は史料館を出てすぐに撮った写真、この潜水艦に乗ってみる。
