This is the third visit to Hawaii for us. We had two reasons to choose this week for our visit. One is, June 11th is said to be the birthday of Kamehameha I, who consolidated the Hawaiian Dynasty, and lots of festivals and events are scheduled on every island. In other words, this week is the liveliest season in all of the Hawaii islands. The other is,,,,, I'll write about it later. Anyway, I headed for Kamehameha I's statue, where I stopped by for some time during last year's half marathon.
While walking, I came across a sad story. The war memorials of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. If FDR hadn't wanted to wage the war against Japan, the present Chinese Communists' Country wouldn't exist now and the conflicts between South and North also wouldn't have happened. I thought that lots of young men were dispatched to war from Hawaii. I paid tribute to them for a short time.
